RMNCH Landscape Analysis in Cross River, Ebonyi, FCT, Gombe, Kaduna and Lagos States for the World Health Organization (WHO)-Baseline and Endline (2014 and 2016)

Thirteen (13) underutilized, high-impact commodities for women and children were prioritized globally as tracers to provide practical focus for combating maternal, newborn and child mortality. These 13 LSC are female condoms, implants and emergency contraceptives for reproductive health; oxytocin, misoprostol and magnesium sulfate for maternal health; injectable antibiotics, antenatal corticosteroids, chlorhexidine gel and neonatal resuscitation devices for neonatal health; and amoxicillin, ORS and zinc for child health. A Country Implementation Plan for the prioritized life-saving commodities (LSC) for women and children was submitted to the UN Commission on Life-Saving Commodities (UNCoLSC) and this was followed by recommendations to address gaps within RMNCH programming.

In view of this, Dr Nkem Ene of Preston Healthcare Consulting Ltd. was contracted to conduct a baseline analysis of the RMNCH Landscape Synthesis in 2014. This also provided the impetus for an end line analysis to track progress, two years later; 2016.
